J.J. Cale Tribute - Friday June 29th Parksville

The song "After Midnight" jump-started J.J. Cale's fame in 1970. Eric Claptons big hit song "Cocaine" helped further cement his songwriting abilities. These were sone of the 287 songs he published over the course of his lifetime. He passed away in 2013.
JJ Cale was most well known among musicians. Neil Young thought J.J. Cale and Jimmy Hendrix were the best guitar players in the world.  He is known for a laid back style of music and playing referred to as the "Tulsa Sound" which he largely created with a few other well known Oklahoma musicians - Leon Russell, Jim Keltner, and etc. His music is a mix of blues, rock-a-billy, country and jazz rolled into a laid back style that we're sure you'll enjoy..
